Russian forces launch 5 missile strikes, 5 airstrikes, 15 MLRS attacks

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this. 

The Marhanets town in the Dnipropetrovsk region and the Chasiv Yar town in the Donetsk region came under fire. There are victims among the civilian population there.

The General Staff noted that the Russian forces continue to focus their efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions and do not abandon attempts to improve the tactical position in the Kupiansk and Lyman directions.

On the border with Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and 

signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups haven't been detected. In other directions, the situation is as follows:

• On the northeastern Ukrainian border in the Kharkiv region, areas of nine settlements were subjected to tank, mortar and artillery shelling.

• In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian enemy shelled three districts in the Kharkiv region and the Novoselivka and Stelmakhivka settlements in the Luhansk region.

• In the Lyman direction, four settlements in the Luhansk region came under Russian fire.

• In the Bakhmut direction of the Donetsk region, the Russian forces shelled nine settlements.

• In the Avdiivka direction of the Donetsk region, areas of seven settlements were damaged by fire.

• In the Vuhledar direction of the Donetsk region, the enemy fired at five districts. 

• In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the Russian enemy continues mortar and artillery shelling of civilian infrastructure along the right bank of the Dnipro River. More than 25 settlements in the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson regions and the city of Kherson were damaged. At night, the enemy also launched a rocket attack on the town of Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region.

On December 22, invading Russian forces shelled Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region, with multiple launch rocket systems, killing a civilian.
