Zelenskyy: We want to hear that Ukraine can join NATO after war ends
During his visit to the Netherlands, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered a speech at the International Criminal Court in The Hague and said that Ukraine wants to count on NATO membership
He emphasized this during his speech.
“Of course, we have a lot to do to win, and of course, it depends not only on us. First of all, we need justice that does not depend on our capabilities, but on our partners, on our friends. That is why we need our dear friends, in fact,” Zelenskyy said.
The president noted that regarding the NATO issue, he is convinced that a few months ago Ukraine received positive messages from certain countries that already support Ukraine's membership in NATO.
“They are expressing their support, doing much more than just opening the door at the Vilnius summit, and we need that 'something more.' I am also sure that our friends support us and we will be in NATO in the future. In any case, we are realistic and understand that no one will accept us into NATO during the war. But we want to do everything possible to get clear messages that as soon as the war is over, Ukraine can count on NATO membership,” the president of Ukraine said.
