Tusk says security services arrested people suspected of sabotage for Russia
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the country's special services have arrested nine people suspected of participating in subversive activities in favor of Russia
He said this in an interview with TVN24, Gazetaprawna.pl reports.
“We currently have nine suspects arrested and accused of direct involvement in acts of sabotage in Poland at the request of Russian services,” Tusk said.
Answering journalists' questions about the sabotage in Poland, the prime minister emphasized that the case is “very serious.”
According to him, the situation concerns several European countries, including Poland itself, as well as Lithuania and Latvia. In addition, similar signals are coming from Sweden.
Tusk noted that the arrested saboteurs are accused of “beatings, arson and attempts to arrange arson.”
The Polish prime minister added that his country is working closely with allies and neighboring countries in this case, and he is satisfied with the effective work of the special services.
Tusk also said that on Tuesday, during a government meeting, he would announce the details of a commission to investigate Russian influence on Polish politics in recent years. The official added that the commission would not be public, but would work intensively behind closed doors.
