Samantha Power's visit to Ukraine
The Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) arrived in Kyiv for the first time on October 6, 2022. On the same day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with Samantha Power the plan for Ukraine's rapid recovery and security at public infrastructure facilities.
Later, the head of USAID, who has experience documenting war crimes around the world, emphasized that she had never seen such large-scale and brutal atrocities as those committed by Russia in Ukraine.
Power arrived in Kyiv for the second time on July 18. During the visit, she visited one of the houses damaged by the Russians in Bucha, Kyiv region, whose owners have already received compensation for reconstruction under the eRestoration program.
For her part, Power praised eRestoration and noted that, despite her extensive experience, she had never seen such programs before.
