Transnistria asks Russia to strengthen security of Dubasari HPP due to "tense situation"
Unrecognized Transnistria has asked Russia to send its military to the Dubasari hydroelectric power plant. This is allegedly necessary to improve the anti-terrorist protection of the facility
This was reported by the Russian propaganda agency RIA Novosti.
"One of the necessary additional measures to improve the anti-terrorist protection of the Dubasari HPP is the establishment of an additional post of the "joint peacekeeping forces" at the entrance to the dam of the Dubasari HPP on the right bank of the Dniester River. Currently, there is such a post... but only on the left bank," the statement reads.
It is noted that the request is prompted by the allegedly tense situation in the region recently, in particular around Transnistria.
The post is requested to be set up within a month.
In total, there are 15 stationary posts and checkpoints in Transnistria where Russian occupation forces are on duty.
