Ukraine won't become EU member, it's all theater: foreign fakes for June 25
The Center for Countering Disinformation has published a selection of anti-Ukrainian fakes that were launched by the world media on June 25
This is reported by Espreso.TV.
According to the National Security and Defense Council's Center for Countering Disinformation, on June 25, fake news and disinformation appeared in the world.
Manipulation: Canadian lawyer Dimitri Lascaris wrote on X: "There is zero - I repeat, zero - chance that Ukraine will become a member of the European Union. This is all theater, folks. The ‘opening of EU accession talks’ is a fake, feel-good narrative that is designed to distract us from the destruction of Ukraine.”
Refutation: With such statements, Dimitri Lascaris is trying to discredit Ukraine's European integration process. Ukraine has made significant progress towards EU membership by implementing a number of important reforms that have been recognized and supported by European leaders. The launch of EU accession negotiations is an important step that reflects the European Union's real interest in Ukraine's integration.
Disinformation: Former member of the US Democratic Party Tulsi Gabbard said: "Zelenskyy's presidential term ended on May 20. He canceled the elections under the guise of martial law, thus suspending the Constitution of Ukraine to stay in power.”
Refutation: This statement is another attempt to discredit the President of Ukraine as part of Russia's disinformation campaign about his so-called illegitimacy. In fact, Ukrainian legislation does not allow for elections during martial law, so the current President of Ukraine remains the full and legitimate head of state.
