In Krasnogorsk, Moscow region, a shooting took place at the Crocus City Hall concert venue before the start of the Picnic band's performance. According to the latest information, at least 90 people were killed and more than 100 injured.

Earlier, the Russian Telegram channels reported that at least 40 people were killed and more than 100 injured.

Eyewitnesses say that the shooting with automatic weapons was started by three people in camouflage who broke into the concert hall.

Several explosions also occurred, causing a large fire. Rescuers were unable to start extinguishing the fire because of the threat to life. The roof of Crocus City Hall began to collapse.

Russia's FSB reports that special services are conducting operations at the mall, and that 40 people have been killed and more than 100 injured in the attack, RIA Novosti reports.

Russian authorities' reaction

According to Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Putin was informed of the shooting "in the first minutes" of the events in Crocus, RIA Novosti reports.

Peskov assures that Putin "constantly receives information about what is happening and about the measures taken by all relevant services." According to him, the Russian president "gave all the necessary instructions."

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and said that "terrorists understand only retaliatory terror."

"If it is established that these are terrorists of the Kyiv regime, it is impossible to deal with them and their ideological masterminds otherwise. All of them must be found and ruthlessly destroyed as terrorists. Including officials of the state that committed this atrocity," he wrote.
