Mexico invites Putin to inauguration of newly elected president
Mexico has invited Russian leader Vladimir Putin to the inauguration of newly elected President Claudia Sheinbaum, scheduled for October 1
Reuters writes about this, citing Russian media.
"Russia's invitation to take part in the inauguration of President Sheinbaum was sent to President Putin. The Russian President will decide whether he will participate in the ceremony himself or appoint another high-ranking official to do so on his behalf," a spokesman for the Mexican Embassy said.
The Mexican Foreign Ministry later told Reuters that the government had sent diplomatic notes to all countries with which it had relations, as well as to international organizations of which it is a member, inviting them to Sheinbaum's inauguration.
