Macron is taking rather dangerous step: diplomat on dissolution of parliament in France
Yaroslav Voitko, diplomat and international expert, says that Emmanuel Macron has three more years to serve as president of France, so he needs parliamentary support
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
"Half of the voters voted for the National Rally led by Marine Le Pen. Macron decided to take a dangerous step and announced early elections to the French parliament, which was supposed to work until 2027. However, the first round of parliamentary elections in France will be held on June 30, and the second round on July 7. We'll see who wins them. Macron still wants to gain the support of his voters. He is taking a dangerous step, but he thinks that he will be supported in a coalition with other pro-European forces that support Macron. Because the current French president has three more years in office, so he needs parliamentary support," the diplomat said.
Yaroslav Voitko emphasized that Macron wants to hold parliamentary elections in France before the Olympic Games, which are scheduled to take place in Paris in July this year.
