Prosecutor General Nida Grunskienė confirmed this, according to LRT.

"If I am not mistaken, there are currently over 50 pre-trial investigations [on sanction violations]. I know that rulings have been issues in several cases. The process is ongoing, we have enough pre-trial investigations," she told reporters in parliament.

Grunskienė also mentioned that one case involving arms smuggling has already gone to trial.

"There is one case on arms smuggling, if I’m not mistaken, referred to court," she said.

  • Earlier, authorities in Lithuania uncovered a large-scale operation violating international sanctions, involving smuggling goods to Russia. Seven individuals and four legal entities are implicated.
