Is Zelenskyy already convinced of Trump's victory?
On the president's statement about the peace plan by November
A plan can be drawn up. But it seems to me that there are no guarantees that Russia will accept it. And Putin has already voiced his wishes before the first Peace Summit. And there is no reason for him to back down from them.
So there may be a plan, but I personally do not believe in its implementation.
“In addition, there is a nuance that cannot be overlooked: the temporal reference to November. That is, to the results of the US election. And I have this suspicion that the president's entourage has already believed in Trump's victory. And that there is some kind of fuss to start negotiations under this sauce.”
"It seems to me that they see Trump's victory as an indulgence for themselves to go to peace talks and have an excuse to people that we are powerless before the results of the US election, we have lost our main ally, and we are going to negotiate with Russia," one senior source told me in May.
But it seems to me that Trump has not yet won this election. Moreover, he has a very uncomfortable opponent.
CNN aired a story about 100 days before the election. A media data analyst points out that there is no clear leader and that Trump is up by only one point this week. This one point is in Wisconsin, while Michigan and Pennsylvania are flat.
“And that what was impossible for Biden is possible for Kamala because she has a different electoral potential. According to the analyst, Harris can even compete for North Carolina, where Biden lost last time. Harris is superior to Biden in his ability to appeal to Latinos and black voters.”
Yes, Harris did not win, but she did not lose either. And I don't think it's the best time to engage Ukraine in negotiations on the eve of winter. Does anyone think that Putin won't use the lack of gigawatts to blackmail us?
So I hope that we have some other internal arguments for negotiations besides a potential Trump victory, which will be reported to us through foreign media at some point.
