White House responds to Republican calls to terminate aid to Ukraine
The Biden administration emphasized that Ukraine's aid directly correlates with US national security interests, and it will continue to support it
Jake Sullivan, the US President's National Security Adviser, stated this, as reported by Ukrinform.
Responding to the statements of far-right Republicans, Sullivan commented that he has heard voices claiming that we should not support Ukraine, but rather focus on domestic issues. The White House notes that presidents from both the Democratic and Republican parties have made efforts to support both domestic issues and international commitments.
Sullivan further added that the US can take care of its citizens while investing in the middle class and upholding global values such as freedom, including the freedom of the Ukrainian people. It is not an abstract issue but involves concrete steps, as the US has mobilized an international coalition to defend Ukraine and made significant investments in clean energy, infrastructure, and technology, benefiting the middle class.
The United States has significant global commitments that directly affect their national security and the well-being of their citizens, and they will fulfill those commitments, Sullivan affirmed.

Recently, a group of 19 far-right Republicans urged President Joe Biden to end military aid to Ukraine, citing a lack of clear strategy to end the conflict, which has been ongoing for two years. They also believe that the government should focus on resolving domestic problems.
