What will happen to Russia?
Nothing! Nothing good
One. The defeat will result in widespread chaos in Russia, and the country will essentially crumble. The number of fragments that will emerge will be directly proportional to the number of oligarchic groups, feudal lords, or generals who can establish their own armed forces.
Two. These fragments will engage in war with one another for control of new borders, strategic resources, assets, and spheres of influence. The strongest one will grab the largest piece. Moscow will become a hotbed of constant criminal activity and will also experience continuous social unrest stemming from inter-ethnic and religious differences.

Three. Within these new fragments, a violent power struggle will ensue, with criminal groups, military factions, and former Federal Security Service members vying for the title of kingpin in the local area.
Four. The "ordinary Russian people" will lose even the illusory sense of security and prospects they have now. If Putin had previously warned Russians about the perils of the 1990s, those years will seem like a period of earthly paradise and extraordinary prosperity in comparison to the future ahead.

Five. Good Americans will once again save hungry ignoramuses with cheap chicken sausages on their humanitarian missions. Queues and fights for the distribution of humanitarian aid will become commonplace for most Russians.
So much more will happen. But Ukraine will no longer concern them. They will be too busy for that. Way too busy.
This won't happen overnight. There will be a series of significant events leading up to this outcome, with much more bloodshed and tears to come. This outcome is inevitable. This Empire has already undermined itself several times. This time it will finally die.
