We are given much more effective weapons than media say - diplomat Yelchenko

Volodymyr Yelchenko, diplomat, ambassador of Ukraine to the USA, stated live on air of Espreso TV channel.

"There has always been struggle between two schools of thought in Washington. The difference is that some believe that Russia cannot win this war, and the other believes that Ukraine has no right to lose. There is a certain difference," he noted.

According to the diplomat, prevailing idea in Washington is that Russia must lose.

"In order for Ukraine to defeat the Russian Federation, we need more weapons, more help, and this is being done. I think that there are things that we will already learn about after the war—we are given much more effective weapons than we know from the media. We saw evidence of this in the last few days.

In general, it is "bavovna" phenomenon. I think that after war we will learn a lot of interesting things about what kind of aid was actually provided to Ukraine," Yelchenko concluded.

• On December 5, military airfields Diagilevo in Ryazan region and Engels in Saratov region were hit. Three Russian servicemen who were at the airfield were mortally wounded. Four others were injured. According to unconfirmed data, two Tu-95MS strategic bombers were damaged by explosion at one of the airfields, and fuel tank exploded at another. In the evening, Russian Ministry of Defense of admitted that two airfields had been hit.
