FSB agents planning terrorist attacks in Ukraine, EU detained
Ukrainian law enforcement has detained and charged organizers of an agent group planning terrorist attacks in Ukraine and the EU under FSB orders.
Ukraine's Security Service (SBU), the National Police, and the Prosecutor General's Office reported the information.
During complex operations in Ukraine's Carpathian region, law enforcement officers detained the organizer of an agent group and his accomplice. The men were part of a group whose activities were remotely coordinated by Russian special services.
"The criminal group consisted of 19 people who were dispersed among their places of residence in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Poltava regions, as well as in Zaporizhzhia," the statement says.
The main targets were shopping centers, gas stations, pharmacies, and markets in Ukraine, Poland, and the Baltic States.
"After committing the arson attacks, the perpetrators were supposed to film the fire on their own phones for further 'reporting' to the FSB. The aggressor planned to use the media files to prepare special information operations aimed at undermining the socio-political situation in the European Union," the SBU said.
Netherlands, Denmark to supply 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine this summer
This summer, the Netherlands and Denmark will send 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine. These tanks, purchased last year, have been repaired and are currently being tested.
The Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands reported this on its website.
The 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks, bought by the Netherlands for Ukraine, were previously used. The German company Rheinmetall has overhauled these combat vehicles.
As noted, on July 24 and 25, the last two Leopard tanks are undergoing verification tests as part of the delivery process. The first 12 tanks have already been sent. All 14 tanks are set to be delivered by the end of the summer.
"Ukraine urgently needs more military support, given the heavy fighting on the battlefield. These tanks can play an important role in protecting the Ukrainian army from Russian forces. The Netherlands, together with its allies and partners, will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary. This is extremely important to protect Ukraine and deter Putin's aggression," emphasized the Dutch Defense Minister.
