Spain to provide Ukraine with Hawk air defense systems

Spain plans to supply Hawk air defense missile systems to Ukraine in September.

The Spanish Defense Ministry’s website states this.

On July 24, Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles held a working conversation via videoconference with her Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov.

In particular, Umerov spoke about the current situation at the front and the urgent needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

At the same time, Robles spoke about future deliveries of military aid to Ukraine and the progress in training the Ukrainian military - 5,000 soldiers have already been trained.

She also announced the following necessary assistance. Spain plans to provide a fully operational Hawk anti-aircraft battery to Ukraine in September. This will increase the capacity of the Ukrainian air defense.

Robles also emphasized the importance of humanitarian support for Ukraine. Spain will provide a facilitated transfer from Poland for orphans and relatives of Ukrainian soldiers to spend a few days in Spain.

FSB agents planning terrorist attacks in Ukraine, EU detained

Ukrainian law enforcement has detained and charged organizers of an agent group planning terrorist attacks in Ukraine and the EU under FSB orders.

Ukraine's Security Service (SBU), the National Police, and the Prosecutor General's Office reported the information.

During complex operations in Ukraine's Carpathian region, law enforcement officers detained the organizer of an agent group and his accomplice. The men were part of a group whose activities were remotely coordinated by Russian special services.

"The criminal group consisted of 19 people who were dispersed among their places of residence in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Poltava regions, as well as in Zaporizhzhia," the statement says.

The main targets were shopping centers, gas stations, pharmacies, and markets in Ukraine, Poland, and the Baltic States.

"After committing the arson attacks, the perpetrators were supposed to film the fire on their own phones for further 'reporting' to the FSB. The aggressor planned to use the media files to prepare special information operations aimed at undermining the socio-political situation in the European Union," the SBU said.

Netherlands, Denmark to supply 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine this summer

This summer, the Netherlands and Denmark will send 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine. These tanks, purchased last year, have been repaired and are currently being tested.

The Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands reported this on its website.

The 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks, bought by the Netherlands for Ukraine, were previously used. The German company Rheinmetall has overhauled these combat vehicles.

As noted, on July 24 and 25, the last two Leopard tanks are undergoing verification tests as part of the delivery process. The first 12 tanks have already been sent. All 14 tanks are set to be delivered by the end of the summer.

"Ukraine urgently needs more military support, given the heavy fighting on the battlefield. These tanks can play an important role in protecting the Ukrainian army from Russian forces. The Netherlands, together with its allies and partners, will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary. This is extremely important to protect Ukraine and deter Putin's aggression," emphasized the Dutch Defense Minister.

UK to purchase Martlet missiles and provide part to Ukraine

The United Kingdom is purchasing Martlet multi-purpose missiles for its armed forces, some of which will be provided to Ukraine.

The UK Defense Ministry’s website states this.

The GBP 176 million (almost USD 227 million) order aims to equip current and future air defense assets of the British Army. This includes Stormer combat vehicles and the Royal Navy's Martlet naval air defense missile system, which is deployed from Wildcat helicopters.

The corresponding supply contract was signed with the British company Thales UK, which manufactures Martlet (LMM) missiles.

The UK Defense Ministry said in a statement that hundreds of LMM missiles will also be transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

These missiles are designed to counter threats such as drones, helicopters, other aircraft, and small high-speed maritime targets.

Ukraine’s soldiers of 79th Brigade repel one of Russia’s largest assaults

Soldiers of the 79th Separate Tavria Air Assault Brigade rebuffed one of the largest Russian assaults in the entire period of full-scale war in the Kurakhove direction. Texty.org reported the information.

The occupying Russian army simultaneously used 11 tanks, 45 armored combat vehicles with troops and 1 Terminator tank support vehicle. They also attacked using motorcycles, with 12 "riders," according to the report.

The Russian columns started to attack at dawn. The assault began from several directions at once.

Aerial reconnaissance of the 79th Brigade discovered Russian vehicles far away on the outskirts. Ukrainian artillery immediately started firing on their battle formation, the 79th Air Assault Brigade described the details of the assault.

The brigade reported that attack drone operators began by stopping the first tanks and armored combat vehicles. Then, the anti-tank units joined the battle. Much of the Russian equipment exploded on mines laid by the 79th Brigade's sappers.
