Russia acknowledges strikes on its airfields, noting that drones are shot down

Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported this on Telegram.

"In the morning of December 5, with the aim of disabling Russian long-range aviation aircraft, attempts were made by the Kyiv regime to launch strikes by Soviet-made jet unmanned aerial vehicles on the Dyagilevo military airfields in the Ryazan region and Engels in the Saratov region,” the report says.

At the same time, the Russian Federation claims that it shot down the drones, and the deaths and injuries of the military and damage to the warplanes were caused by “falling debris.”

“Ukrainian UAVs flying at a low altitude were intercepted by the air defense means of the Russian Air Force. As a result of the fall and explosion of the wreckage of the jet drones at Russian airfields, the skin of two aircraft was slightly damaged. Three Russian servicemen of the technical staff, who were at the airfield, were lethally wounded. Four more servicemen who were injured have been taken to medical facilities,” Russia's Ministry of Defense reports.
