Russia deploys 'assault meat' in Bakhmut sector, says NGU Major
Dmytro Kozhubenko, an officer in the planning section of the Rubizh Brigade and Major of the Ukrainian National Guard (NGU), has noted that Russian forces are mobilizing reserves across all areas of the eastern front
He stated this on Espreso TV.
“The situation remains challenging around Chasiv Yar and the Bakhmut defense area. Russia is continuously bringing in reserves from all directions. Currently, Russian forces are intensifying their attacks on all positions held by the Ukrainian Defense Forces along the entire combat line, including Chasiv Yar. They are trying to enter the town itself. In the Kanal neighborhood, Russia initially made gains only because it completely destroyed the area. Although Russia has not achieved any major advances, they continue to press their attacks,” Kozhubenko noted.
According to Kozhubenko, Russia holds a significant advantage in manpower.
“Russia has a significant amount of 'assault meat' and strong air support. For over six months, they have been using powerful air-dropped and aerial-guided bombs that destroy everything in their path, followed by infantry. Fortunately, these efforts have not been successful. To wage a successful war, you need a clear purpose. The Russians are fighting solely for money and the ambitions of their leader,” emphasized Kozhubenko.
