78 clashes occur at front, Russian troops focus on Pokrovsk, Kurakhove directions - Ukraine's General Staff
Since the beginning of July 26, there have been 78 combat clashes on the frontline, with Russian forces active across almost the entire front

Border settlements in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions continue to be targeted by Russian artillery shelling and air strikes. Artillery and mortar fire has impacted 9 settlements. Additionally, Russian forces fired unguided aerial missiles from Su-25 attack aircraft at the Basivka area.
In the Kharkiv region, Russian aircraft are carrying out systematic bombardments. Today, a total of 11 aerial guided bombs were deployed from Russian territory, striking the areas of Tykhe, Hlyboke, Vovchansk, Lyptsi, and Vovchanski Khutory.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv sector, seven Russian attacks were repelled near Slobozhanske, Hlyboke, and Vovchansk.
In the Kupyansk sector, Russia launched three assaults on Ukrainian positions near Stelmakhivka, Tabaivka, and Pishchane. Fighting is ongoing near the latter two settlements. Russian forces also bombarded Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi and shelled areas near Synkivka with unguided aerial missiles.
In the Lyman sector, the occupying Russian army carried out five attacks on Ukrainian positions near Nevske, Novoserhiivka, and Novoyehorivka. Two of these clashes ended in failure for Russia, while three are still ongoing. Russian forces are particularly active around Nevske.
In the Siversk sector, Russia made three unsuccessful attacks near Verkhniokamianske and Ivanodarivka. The situation remains under control.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled four Russian attacks near Hryhorivka and Chasiv Yar during the day. Russia is operating with aviation support, using unguided aircraft missiles.
In the Toretsk sector, Russia launched seven attacks near Zalizne, Pivnichne, and New York. Firefights are ongoing around these settlements. Additionally, the occupying army carried out air strikes on New York and Druzhba using unguided missiles.
The Pokrovsk sector has seen the highest number of firefights so far. Since the beginning of the day, Russia has made 23 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Vesele, Novoselivka Persha, Yasnobrodivka, and Tymofiivka. More than half of these clashes are still ongoing. Russia also launched four air strikes near Oleksandropil and Novoselivka Persha.
Active fighting continues in the Kurakhove sector. Ukrainian defenders have repelled eight attacks by the occupying Russian army and are engaged in four more ongoing clashes. Russia is concentrating its efforts around Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, and Paraskoviivka. Additionally, Russian troops bombarded the area near Ukrainsk with aerial guided bombs.
In the Vremivka sector, one Russian attack near Vodiane was repelled. Fighting continues in four settlements around Kostiantynivka, Staromlynivka, and Vodiane. Russia also attacked with unguided aerial missiles near Urozhaine.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russia faced a strong rebuff near Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, and Novoandriivka, with five attacks repelled. They also bombarded Mala Tokmachka with seven aerial guided bombs and launched over 120 unguided aerial missiles. The latter also targeted Huliaipole, Lobkove, and Kamianske.
There were no significant changes in other areas.

Dmytro Kozhubenko, an officer in the planning section of the Rubizh Brigade and Major of the Ukrainian National Guard (NGU), noted that Russian forces are mobilizing reserves across all areas of the eastern front.
