Russia's defense industry increases production of Kh-101 cruise missiles
The Russian defense industry has increased the production of Kh-101 cruise missiles and is now capable of producing approximately 600 missiles annually
Now, Russia produces about 50 such missiles per month, according to Ukraine's Defence Intelligence, as reported by LIGA.net.
In April of this year, the Russian defense industry was producing about 40 Kh-101 cruise missiles per month. Since then, the production rate has increased by 10 missiles per month, resulting in an additional 120 missiles per year.
In 2023, Russia produced a total of 460 Kh-101 missiles, averaging about 38 missiles per month. With the recent increase in production, Russia is now capable of producing approximately 600 missiles annually.
Also, at the beginning of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, Russia had 440 Kh-101 cruise missiles. Today, Russia has approximately 160 of these missiles in stock.
Ukraine's Defence Intelligence also noted that Russia imports about 90% of the Western-made parts and equipment for the manufacture of Kh-101 cruise missiles through China.
Earlier, Defense Express reported that Russia is working to improve its Kh-101 missiles. For example, earlier this year it emerged that Russia had begun production of the Kh-101 with two warheads.
These are two separate warheads, one of which is a conventional high-explosive warhead, and the other with cubic-shaped striking elements.
