Explosive-laden jet ski near Istanbul, allegedly Ukrainian, not a working maritime drone — Defense Express

Defense Express military expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi noted that the object that washed up on the Turkish coast is unlike any previously known

He shared the information on Espreso TV.

“This is not the first episode when an unknown marine drone washes up on the shores of the Black Sea state. This product is not like any of the previously known ones. It looks like anything but a working model of a maritime drone, so such specific episodes have already occurred,” Kyrychevskyi noted.

The military expert recalled that in the spring, Romania also found a rather strange-shaped object near the coast, which was covered with paint.

“There was a Starlink dish and a warhead from a Soviet P-15 Termit anti-ship missile, which we do not have. Because the P-15 Termit was stationed in Crimea until 2014, and we lost this missile. That is, it looked like anything but a serial or research maritime drone that could be used by the Ukrainian Defense Forces,” Kyrychevskyi emphasized.

According to the military expert, Russia may be playing disinformation games against ukraine.

“For some reason, this small boat arrived in Turkey after Turkey decided to join the peace initiative with the NATO minesweeping mission, which is aimed at preventing the Russians from escalating threats to navigation in the Black Sea. That is, the enemy can play disinformation games with us. We need to be careful with any things that may be similar to ours. If necessary, the Russians will use any means for their provocations.” Kyrychevskyi summarized.

  • Russia has started to launch new low-cost drones during attacks in Ukraine. They are used as a decoy and a means to detect Ukrainian air defense.
  • Estonian intelligence believes that Russia will continue to receive military equipment necessary to continue its armed aggression against Ukraine.
