UK urges China to stop its companies from supporting Russian military
British Foreign Secretary David Lammy has called on China to prevent its companies from supporting the Russian military

He said this during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, Reuters reports.
"The Foreign Secretary underlined the UK's ironclad commitment to Ukraine and urged China to prevent its companies supporting Russia's military industrial complex which poses a material threat to international security and prosperity," the British Foreign Office said in a statement.
The ministry called the meeting constructive and said that Lammy used it to set out the government's "long-term, consistent and strategic approach to UK-China relations."
- On Wednesday, July 24, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Guangzhou. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that during the meeting in China, they confirmed that they would not supply weapons to Russia.
