December 6-13 live war map: Russia launches offensive in all frontline areas

The number of combat engagements along the contact line has increased by about a third, with nearly a hundred battles a day, half of them in the Avdiivka sector. This is the third largest Russian offensive along the entire front since the beginning of the full-scale war

Map of hostilities over the past week in Luhansk region

The Russian invading forces have not been able to break through towards Kupyansk, which they have allegedly "taken" more than once, but are actually stuck near the small village of Synkivka. A little to the east, counterattacks took place in the area of Pershotravneve village during the week. At first, the invaders managed to advance south by a kilometer, and then our warriors recaptured the territory. A bit earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to break through to the east near Ivanivka in the direction of Orlianske and Yahidne, thus regaining the positions they had lost.

The Russian forces have been conducting much more attacks in the Lyman sector, towards the village of Terny, but they have not been able to achieve any results there this week.

Battle for Bakhmut resumes with new force

On the northern front of Bakhmut, the situation became quite threatening in several places at once. On the outskirts of Vesele and Rozdolivka villages, the Russian troops managed to break through Ukrainian defenses and advance several kilometers to the north. Later, the Defense Forces managed to regain some of the lost positions near Rozdolivka.

To the south of Berkhivka, the Russian forces continued to make their way towards Bohdanivka and actually took all the positions that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had liberated during the summer counteroffensive. In addition, the invaders advanced north and south of the village of Khromove, towards Ivanivske and Chasiv Yar. Thus, they simultaneously pose a threat to the defenders in Chasiv Yar and to Ukrainian troops in the recently liberated Klishchiivka. The logistics in Klishchiivka may be cut off if they continue to advance to Ivanivske. Moreover, the offensive to the north of Klishchiivka itself has only intensified these days.

Against the backdrop of these events, the installation of a Ukrainian flag on a spoil tip near Horlivka, which has been under occupation since 2014, is a good sign.

Map of war with Russia: two months of hell in Avdiivka

On December 10, two months have passed since the Russians were ordered to capture Avdiivka as soon as possible. During this period, they have lost the largest number of vehicles and personnel in the battles for the city. On the southern flank, the Russians' advance is miserable - they are actually standing still. On the northern flank, they have penetrated 2-3 kilometers of our defense, but have been stagnating here since early December. The only area where the Russia's troops continued to advance is the Avdiivka industrial area (so-called "promka") on the southeastern outskirts of the city. Despite the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces withdrew from the industrial quarter, the invaders also stuck to the new defensive positions of the Ukrainian military. Therefore, attempts to find weaknesses in our redoubts continue daily in a dozen directions.

Map of active hostilities in the vicinity of Donetsk and Vuhledar

Russia’s mobilization resource is currently 30-35 thousand people per month. In November, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated more than 28 thousand enemies. It is not yet known how long the Russians will be able to continue their assaults at this pace, but it is unlikely that they will be able to maintain it all winter. Therefore, the Russian troops are betting on a breakthrough on one of the fronts.

Over the past week, the Russian troops managed to advance a few hundred meters in the southern part of Marinka and occupy it completely, but in the north their attacks were defeated by the Defense Forces. To the south, the Russian forces resumed their offensive near Novomykhailivka. They managed to occupy about 4 square kilometers on the eastern outskirts of the village.

Another promising area for the invaders may be Vuhledar, where they have repeatedly tried to break through the front. However, it is currently relatively calm there.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed another oil depot in the temporarily occupied Makiivka.

Russian revenge attempt on Berdyansk and Tokmak sectors, Ukrainian counteroffensive revision

In the area of Robotyne, as well as Staromayorske, the Russians launched a campaign to retake the territories that the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated during the summer counteroffensive. The two gaps that Ukrainian soldiers managed to pierce in the Russian forces' defense are now very difficult for them, as they will serve as a springboard for a counteroffensive in the future.

In the Berdyansk direction, the Russian army is trying to attack east and west of Pryiutne, as well as to flank Ukrainian defenders in Staromayorske and Urozhaine. However, their achievements are extremely insignificant.

Instead, near Robotyne, in the Tokmak direction, the enemy managed to push the Ukrainian Armed Forces back from Novoprokopivka by almost a kilometer. It also managed to cut the gap in the Ukrainian defense near Verbove. There are high-intensity counterattacks here, and the classic tactics of the invaders involving convoys of vehicles have been used.

Kherson region's east (left bank): Ukrainian Armed Forces expand bridgehead for counteroffensive

Despite all the Russia's attempts to eliminate our troops in the village of Krynky, they fail. The other day, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a dozen tanks that were on their way to storm the village. Instead, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to expand the territory under their control, making their way south of Krynky.

In addition, it has become known that the Defense Forces are setting up positions on Velikiy Potyomkinskiy Island, right next to Hola Prystan. Russians are already openly fearing that this city could be the next target of our counteroffensive.

Another important event was the downing of a Russian Su-24M bomber near Zmiinyi (Snake) Island, more than 100 kilometers from the coast. It is likely that in this way the Ukrainian Armed Forces demonstrated the emergence of a new Patriot air defense system in this area of the front. This can only mean the development of the prospect of a counteroffensive on the left bank, as Patriot can remove the threat of air strikes by guided bombs.

The maps were created based on information received from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as other open and verified sources. At the same time, the maps are not as accurate as possible and only conditionally reflect trends in the combat zone.
