The spokesman of the US State Department, Ned Price, has reacted to Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov's statement that "Russia's military tasks go beyond the borders of Donbas." He said that such statements will not go unpunished

"Again, we've been clear that annexation by force would be a gross violation of the UN Charter, and we would not allow it to go unchallenged. We would not allow it to go unpunished," State Department spokesman Ned Price said.
The publication notes that Russia annexed Crimea in 2014 and supports the 'DPR' and 'LPR'.
Earlier, the United States said it saw signs that Russia was preparing to formally annex territory it seized from Ukraine and vowed to oppose the annexation.
