US Senate lawmaker raises scenario of Russian military strikes on airports in Poland
US Senator Marco Rubio, who serves on the Intelligence Committee, suggests that after a series of defeats for the Russian army on the battlefield, Vladimir Putin may order attacks on locations in an other countries involved in weapons and military aid supply to Ukraine. In particular he highlighted airports in Poland.
CNN reports.
"If he (Vladimir Putin - ed.) decides, for example, that arming NATO, arming Europe and arming the US for Ukraine will not just cause him to lose the war, but also undermine his control over power... it is quite possible that he could end up hitting some of these distribution points through which these supplies come, including inside Poland," Rubio noted.
According to him, the possibility of an attack on the territory of a NATO country, for example, on some airport in Poland, causes him more excitement than the possibility of a nuclear strike, which many are talking about.
However, he noted that he could not imagine a scenario in which Putin would win the war against Ukraine.
The senator believes that the Russian army now has two options for the following actions: try to hold the territory that has already been captured, which could last for years, or continue to retreat.
