US envoy to UN announces additional USD 25 million assistance for vulnerable Ukrainians in winter
The US Ambassador to the UN has announced the allocation of USD 25 million to support the vulnerable population in Ukraine in winter
The US representative at the UN, Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, stated this at the Media Center in Ukraine.
“Today I visited a center for displaced people that is partially funded by USAID to make sure people have food, shelter, and warmth this winter. There I was honored to announce an additional USD 25 million from USAID to support vulnerable people in Ukraine during the difficult winter. These new funds will extend our planning and assistance to the approximately 75,000 households most affected,” Linda Thomas-Greenfield said.
The US Ambassador to the United Nations emphasized that the United States remains very focused on Ukraine's energy needs and refuses to allow Ukrainians to freeze or starve due to an unnecessary, illegal, and inhumane war while Russia continues to attack infrastructure.

On October 20, Ukraine asked the EU and NATO to help with energy equipment after the strikes of the Russian Federation. After that, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, announced that Kyiv is conducting a dialogue with partners on assistance to restore the energy infrastructure after the Russian shelling, and there are agreements with 12 countries already.
