US ambassador to UN arrives in Kyiv
On Tuesday, November 8, US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield arrived in Kyiv for a visit.
The spokesman for the US mission to the UN, Nate Evans, wrote about this on Twitter.
It is noted that Linda Thomas-Greenfield arrived in Kyiv to confirm the unwavering support of the US to Ukraine.
“Linda Thomas-Greenfield is in Kyiv for a day of meetings to reiterate the US's unwavering support for Ukraine as it defends its freedom and sovereignty amidst Russia’s brutal and unprovoked invasion,” Nate Evans tweeted.
The US Embassy in Ukraine adds that the ambassador will meet with senior Ukrainian officials to discuss the firm commitment of the US to the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. She will also observe the documentation and preservation of evidence of Russian war crimes and hear the stories of survivors.
In addition, Thomas-Greenfield will discuss the food crisis that has worsened since the Russian invasion and the need to continue the Black Sea Grain Initiative for next year.
The embassy's website says that she will also meet with humanitarian organizations that are working to provide winter needs for vulnerable people who have suffered from Russia's attacks on energy and other civilian infrastructure.
