During his visit to Egypt, Lavrov said that Guterres promised to seek the lifting of sanctions that prohibit transactions with Russian grain, and ships from the Russian Federation enter foreign ports.
"Now, after signing the agreements in Istanbul at the initiative of the UN Secretary General, he has volunteered to seek the lifting of these restrictions. We hope that he will succeed", Lavrov said.
According to him, 70 foreign ships are "blocked" in Ukrainian ports.
"There are still 70 foreign ships from 16 or 17 countries, including one ship blocked in Ukrainian ports due to mine danger, which is supposed to bring food to Egypt", Lavrov said.
