Ukrainian power grid engineers are counting days until heating season ends - MP Kucherenko
Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Kucherenko stresses that every Russian missile strike weakens Ukraine's energy grid
He shared the information with Espreso TV.
"Power engineers are counting days until the end of the heating season in Ukraine. They are counting down. Because they understand how difficult this heating season will be," Kucherenko believes.
The MP emphasized the need for strengthening Ukraine's air defense.
"An important element of a stable electricity supply is the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense of Ukraine. This is a key point that needs to be strengthened. We repulse Russian missile strikes, but some missiles reach their targets. We have already learned how to shoot down Iranian 'kamikaze' drones. And no matter how much we restore our energy grid, every Russian missile strike weakens it. Therefore, for the functioning of Ukraine's energy grid, a complex of problems must be solved," he explained.
- On December 16, during an air alert, the Air Defense Forces operated in several regions. Kyiv's energy infrastructure was damaged due to a Russian attack, the metro stopped oeprating, water supply was cut, and there were emergency power outages.
