Putin wants talks on Ukraine without Ukraine
Putin perceives the idea of negotiations with Ukraine as the first step toward surrender. His personal surrender. And he will resist to the last
Judging by what Putin said and how he said it yesterday during the publicly televised part of his "meeting" with members of the National Security and Defense Council and the government, he perceives the idea of negotiations with Ukraine as the first step toward surrender. His personal surrender. And he will resist to the last. Ghoul.
But he is not at all against negotiations on Ukraine without Ukraine. With anyone, preferably with the United States. But maybe also with China.
For him, it is a victory, not a surrender. War is a means. Negotiating a new world order is the goal. An unattainable goal for him so far. That is why he is nervous.
It is this personal goal that will prevent Russia from deviating from its self-destructive path, whether in time or at all. Those who do not believe in Russia's eventual downfall are mistaken. The driving force behind this trajectory is Putin's own stubbornness.
