Ukraine's Security Service exposes Russian military, 'hunting' patriots in Zaporizhzhia region
Ukraine's Security Service has identified Russian soldiers who tortured patriots with electric current, used chemical substances and threatened their relatives in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region
Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) reported this.
“As a result of investigative and operational actions, the identities of three more Russian invaders who took part in the abduction and torture of civilians in the temporarily captured territories of the Zaporizhzhia region were established,” the press service wrote.
It is reported that one of the attackers is the commander of the tactical group of the 22nd Detached Operational Brigade of the Russian Guard. After the capture of Melitopol, he was appointed "military commandant" of the occupation administration of the Ukrainian city. He fulfilled the Kremlin's task of suppressing the resistance movement on the territory of the Cis-Azov region.
For this purpose, the perpetrator formed "punitive squads", which carried out mass raids on the houses of peaceful Ukrainians. Russian forces abducted people and took them to torture camps. Information about the whereabouts of the patriots was obtained from the victims using torture.
“Another two war criminals are employees of the Makhachkala detachment of the special purpose militia (better known as riot police) of the Russian Guard in the Republic of Dagestan,” the SBU reported.
After the occupation of the Vasylivka district, the perpetrators joined the created "commandant's office": one held the "position" of the deputy head of the occupying body, and the other - his assistant.
The investigation established that the invading Russian forces personally participated in the illegal detention and torture of Ukrainians, used poisonous chemicals and electric current on them, and constantly threatened to kill their close relatives.
All those involved were informed of suspicion of violating the laws and customs of war. Comprehensive measures are currently underway to bring Russian war criminals to justice.
