Ukraine's army shell "land route" from Russia to Crimea over 20 times this month – Russian media
Populations located along the "land route" from Russia to Crimea in the occupied parts of Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine have been shelled at least 22 times over the last 30 days
This is reported by the Russian publication Verstka.
According to the report, the Armed Forces attacked the occupiers' targets in Melitopol (six times), Berdyansk (at least seven times), and Mariupol (three times) most frequently. Additionally, Russian bases and facilities in Henichesk, Rykove, Novooleksiivka, Yakymivka, and Urzuf were also targeted.
After the explosion on the Kerch Bridge on July 17, the road through these settlements will soon become the only route connecting the Russian Federation and Crimea.
The distance "by land" between Rostov-on-Don, the last Russian regional center before the occupied territories, and Yalta, a resort on the southern coast of Crimea, is about 700 km.
Russian tourists face multiple challenges on this route, including being under fire. They mention in Telegram chats that after the checkpoint on the border of the Russian Rostov region and the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, the mobile Internet completely disappears. Moreover, they will have to drive through Mariupol, where "every second house is destroyed." Other obstacles include high fuel prices, poorly-maintained roads with roadblocks, and a significant presence of Russian military personnel with equipment.
The Crimean bridge attack
On July 17, in the morning, there were explosions on the Crimean bridge. Russian occupation authorities declared it an "emergency event" and blamed the Ukrainian military for the attack. Some parts of the road surface were damaged, and two deaths were reported.
The Security Service of Ukraine stated that all the details about the explosion on the Crimean bridge will be revealed after Ukraine wins the war against Russia.
Because of this event, Vladimir Putin called for an urgent meeting and promised that Russia would respond to the explosion on the Crimean bridge.
Russian media claims that the Defense Forces of Ukraine supposedly targeted the "land route" from Russia to Crimea more than 20 times in a month.
In contrast, Maxar Technologies released satellite images of the Crimean bridge after the night explosion on July 17.
