Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Yevgen Korniychuk told Ukrinform.

The diplomat noted that the early warning system promised to Ukraine by the Israeli government has not yet been launched, and adaptation procedures are still underway.

"I would not like to speculate on the reasons for this delay, but we really expected the system to work faster, because our population is under fire every day, and a clearer warning system could improve the quality of life for some Ukrainians. So far, there is no estimated launch date. We expect to start testing certain elements of the system at the end of September," said Korniychuk.

He emphasized that this warning system is not an air defense system, but it will help the military know where an enemy object is flying and will only turn on the air raid siren in that location, not all over Ukraine.

"In fact, it is mostly a software product that, using our hardware system, will be able to more accurately inform about potential targets and localization. That is, if a fighter jet takes off from somewhere in Russia or a missile or drone is launched, the system will be able to predict where the object is headed, and accordingly, the air raid alarm will sound not across the country but in a specific region or even city," the diplomat explained.

He also noted that the system is not capable of intercepting missiles.
