Turkey releases Russian ship with looted Ukrainian grain, Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Ministry summons ambassador
The Turkish authorities have released the Russian dry cargo ship Zhibek Zholy, which arrived carrying a load of grain from occupied Berdyansk
The Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Ministry has made a statement.
"Thanks to the prompt intervention of the relevant authorities of Ukraine, this vessel was unable to unload the stolen goods and was detained. A request was sent to the Turkish side to seize the vessel and cargo. At the same time, ignoring the appeal of the Ukrainian side, the vessel was released on the evening of July 6," the statement said.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry noted that in connection with the unacceptable situation, the Turkish ambassador to Kyiv was invited to the ministry.
"The Ukrainian side received the mentioned information with deep disappointment and appeals to the Turkish side with an urgent request to conduct an investigation into the mentioned situation and provide a comprehensive answer to the requests of the relevant authorities of Ukraine, as well as to prevent similar cases in the future by all means," the statement reads.
