Sullivan's Ukraine support signals step-change among Biden's advisers - Taras Berezovets
Political scientist Taras Berezovets calls it a serious evolution that Biden's adviser Jake Sullivan has become more determined to support Ukraine in its defense against the Russian Federation's war
He said this on Espreso TV.
“The fact that Jake Sullivan was quite restrained at the beginning of this war, but has now changed his position in the direction of genuine and sincere support for Ukraine, only means that there has been a serious evolution at the level of advisers to President Biden,” the political scientist emphasized.
Taras Berezovets noted that before the Russian Federation's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Jake Sullivan advocated a more restrained policy and proposed negotiations with Russia, was the ideologue of the meeting between Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin in Geneva in 2021, but eventually changed his position, in particular due to the Ukrainian Armed Forces' actions.
