SpaceX launches Ukrainian satellite PolyITAN-HP-30 into orbit
SpaceX has launched into orbit a Ukrainian satellite developed by scientists of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute
This was reported by Alpha Centauri.
The Ukrainian satellite PolyITAN-HP-30, developed by scientists of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI) named after Sikorsky, was launched on a Falcon-9 rocket from Cape Canaveral in the United States.
In particular, on the satellite's board there is an experimental heat pipe - part of the thermal control system of spacecraft. Such a system is necessary for each spacecraft to remove heat from places of its concentration, such as electronics, to prevent their failure.
The satellite will conduct a scientific experiment to study the effectiveness of heat pipes - as the main element of the thermal stabilisation systems of spacecraft.
In addition, it is known that the launch of PolyITAN-HP-30 into orbit will allow KPI scientists to obtain the performance characteristics of heat pipes in microgravity. They will also be able to identify possible flaws and advantages while creating heat pipes for various spacecraft.
