Russians try to storm Avdiivka while defending themselves
Russian troops near Avdiivka, Donetsk region, conduct both offensive and defensive actions, while the Defense Forces try to counterattack when possible
Vitaliy Barabash, the head of the Avdiivka city military administration, stated this on Espreso.
"The Russians have a strategy where they attempt to storm and surround the city, but the Ukrainian forces successfully defend themselves and counterattack when they see an opportunity," he said.
According to Barabash, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have achieved some successes.
“For instance, in the past two days, the Russians tried to storm from the Butivka mine, which they hadn't attempted in four months. However, the Ukrainian soldiers recognized the opportunity and managed to push them back about 70 meters in that direction. That’s what happens,” he concluded.
