Russian troops building defense structures in Crimea - Ukrainian intelligence

Andriy Cherniak, a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, told Ukrinform about the enemy's actions.

"They (Russian forces, - ed.) are preparing for defense. They are establishing a defensive strip both on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region and on the administrative border with Crimea, in the northern part of the peninsula. In particular, they are building two position areas in the northern part of the Jankoy district. It is very important for them, because as a result of the counteroffensive of Ukrainian forces, northern Crimea will be withing " Cherniak noted.

Regarding the evacuation of Russians and Russia’s supporters from Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, a representative of military intelligence notes that most of them are trying to get not to Crimea, but to the territory of Russia, because they do not feel safe on the peninsula.

"Even they understand that, one way or another, Russia will lose Crimea and the peninsula will return to Ukraine," Cherniak emphasized.
