Russian missile strikes damage 350 gas facilities in Ukraine
Losses of gas production capacities amount to about 700 million dollars. This year's heating season in Ukraine will be the hardest
Reuters reports with reference to Oleksiy Chernyshov, head of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
According to head of the state energy company, recent Russian attacks on Ukraine damaged 350 natural gas production facilities. Although production should be mostly restored by the end of the year.
"We all understand that energy is another weapon and we were seriously hit by Russian missiles in part of our infrastructure, gas production infrastructure was also affected," Chernyshov said.
He noted that loss of gas production capacity is about 700 million dollars.
"We have started heating season - we expect it to be the hardest," Chernyshov added.
Also Oleksiy Chernyshov, who headed Naftogaz of Ukraine in November of this year, reported that one of the priorities remains withdrawal of the company from default, which Naftogaz announced in July and thus became first Ukrainian company to do so since the beginning of Russian invasion on February 24.
