The Office of Ukraine’s Prosecutor General reported this on Telegram on January 7.

It is noted that law enforcement officers have launched pre-trial investigations into the violation of the laws and customs of war. On January 6, the Russian forces once again shelled Bakhmut with artillery.

"A 66-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman were killed by powerful mortar attacks on residential areas. Thirteen more people received mine-blast injuries and shrapnel wounds. Private households, apartment buildings and other objects were damaged and destroyed," the statement reads.

Reference:  Russian president Vladimir Putin instructed the Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu "to introduce a ceasefire in Ukraine from 12:00 on January 6 to 24:00 on January 7."

The Ukrainian side regarded this statement as a propaganda move.

  • On January 7, the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko reported that two people were killed and 7 civilians were wounded by the Russian armed aggression in the Donetsk region during the previous day. The number of casualties has increased.
