Prosecutor General's Office reported that on January 6, the Russian military killed two residents of Bakhmut and 13 more people were injured
The Office of Ukraine’s Prosecutor General reported this on Telegram on January 7.
It is noted that law enforcement officers have launched pre-trial investigations into the violation of the laws and customs of war. On January 6, the Russian forces once again shelled Bakhmut with artillery.
"A 66-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman were killed by powerful mortar attacks on residential areas. Thirteen more people received mine-blast injuries and shrapnel wounds. Private households, apartment buildings and other objects were damaged and destroyed," the statement reads.
Reference: Russian president Vladimir Putin instructed the Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu "to introduce a ceasefire in Ukraine from 12:00 on January 6 to 24:00 on January 7."
The Ukrainian side regarded this statement as a propaganda move.
