President Zelenskyy reveals how far Russia has advanced in Kharkiv region
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the occupying Russian army has advanced no more than 10 km in the Kharkiv direction
RBC Ukraine reported the information.
"Today, Ukrainian Defence Forces have stabilized the Russians where they are now. The deepest point of their advance is 10 kilometers. In the directions of some enemy brigades, there is no advance at all - and there has never been one," Zelenskyy said.
He emphasized that Ukraine has powerful brigades. This has allowed it to reinforce several areas with separate battalions, drawing from reserves in various locations.
According to the president, “Vovchansk is their (Russian troops - ed.) target, of course.”
“In addition to the fact that they want a 10-kilometer zone, they want to always expand on the success, if any. But the main thing for today is that Ukrainian Defense Forces have stabilized the situation,” Zelenskyy said.
The president also added that “no one has reached the concrete defense line, it's nonsense that they say the enemy has reached the first line. The first line is not the border, it is impossible to build there because our people were killed by the weapons used by the Russians.”
- On Thursday, May 17, 114 combat clashes took place in the frontline. The situation in Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, is under control.
