Ukrainian President's Office Head names when second Peace Summit might be held
Head of the Ukrainian President's Office Andrii Yermak has stated that the exact date and location of the second Peace Summit will be determined once a joint plan for implementing the Peace Formula is established
He announced this at the Ukraine 2024. Independence forum.
“We can only discuss the specific date and location of the second summit once the joint plan is finalized. This work is ongoing and continues without interruption,” Yermak said.
He added that efforts are currently focused on organizing thematic conferences to address topics from the Peace Summit in Switzerland. These topics include energy, nuclear issues, food security, the return of children abducted from Ukraine, and the repatriation of prisoners of war and civilians.
“Next, we will address other issues to finalize the joint plan today and agree it with our partners. The working groups set up after the Jeddah meeting of national security advisers are already making progress and continue their work,” Yermak added.
He also mentioned the possibility of holding the second Peace Summit in a Global South country but noted that a specific location has not yet been decided. He emphasized that "the content and readiness of the joint plan we are working on are what truly matter."
“Ukraine should not be left alone to face Russia. The Kremlin must be compelled to adhere to international law. This is the philosophy behind President Zelenskyy's Peace Formula,” Yermak commented.
- In July, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that by November, Ukraine needs to develop a plan for the Second Peace Summit, which should include Russian representatives.
