Ukrainian defenders manage to partially stabilize situation in Kharkiv region - Zelenskyy
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that today, on May 15, the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine managed to partially stabilize the situation in Kharkiv region
He said this in an evening video address.
"Constant attention is paid to the frontline, to all combat areas. Kharkiv region - the areas near the border, the town of Vovchansk - our defensive actions continue. During this day, our Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine - all the units involved - managed to partially stabilize the situation," Zelenskyy said.
The President stressed that Ukrainian defenders are using all means to target the Russian soldiers who have entered the Kharkiv region. According to him, the Ukrainian infantry, artillery, and drones are "working quite accurately".
"The same attention is paid to all other areas. Especially Donetsk region - the Pokrovsk direction, as well as the Kupyansk direction in Kharkiv region. We can clearly see how the occupying Russian forces are trying to draw our forces away and make our combat work less concentrated. We are responding to this exactly as we should — in each direction, we must have something to answer the enemy," Zelenskyy said.
- On May 15, Ivan Tymochko, a soldier in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and head of the Army Reserves Council, said that for the third day, Russian forces have been within 3-5 km of the border. According to him, the Russian forces failed in their blitzkrieg in Kharkiv region.
