Ukraine's territorial concessions to Russia in exchange for peace will be betrayal - NSDC Secretary
NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Lytvynenko says that territorial concessions to Russia in exchange for peace would be a brutal betrayal of Ukrainians who remain under occupation
He expressed this opinion in an interview with The Economist.
Lytvynenko warned Western partners who impose peace on Ukraine on Russia's terms: "Putin has lied, is lying and will continue to lie."
According to him, ceding territory to Russia in exchange for peace would be a "brutal betrayal" of Ukrainians who remained under violent occupation.
"But there is also a more pragmatic reason to refuse it. An agreement with an inveterate liar probably means only one thing: he will regroup, rearm and try to get more in two or three years," Lytvynenko said.
The Russian leader was carried away by the idea of conquering Ukraine, Lytvynenko emphasized.
"Next time, he will not make a mistake, but will prepare his operation much more carefully, in accordance with all the laws of military art," the NSDC Secretary summarized.
