This was announced by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, on the Espreso TV channel.

‘Crossing the Dnipro is a rather difficult task. It's not just a matter of taking a boat, crossing the river, and then starting some kind of assault. This is a whole range of measures that need to be taken. First and foremost, it is the concentration of forces and equipment that will carry out this assault. There must also be strong artillery, missile and air support. In addition, all this cannot happen unnoticed by Ukrainian intelligence. The war is completely different now: drones are flying up and seeing everything. So it is virtually impossible to hide so many forces and means to carry out forays and assaults,’ he said.

According to Voloshyn, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are currently in control of the entire island part of Dnipro.

‘They control all the approaches and entrances not only to Kherson itself but also to Kherson region. The Krynky bridgehead itself is under the fire control of the Defense Forces. Therefore, it is currently impossible to quietly cross the Dnipro and attack Kherson again. The Russians are not taking any preparatory steps to cross the Dnipro. They keep forces and equipment at the mouth of the Dnipro, but they are not enough to carry out the crossing,’ he added.

  • Since the beginning of the day on September 25, the Russian army has been attacking Kherson region, causing several civilian casualties. A woman died in the regional centre as a result of the shelling.
