The American writer, the King of Horror Stephen King, known for his constant support of Ukraine, has made a new statement. He emphasized that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should “stop killing people.” Instead, King suggests that Putin and Zelenskyy should have a fight with each other to resolve all “differences.”

The writer believes that the Ukrainian president would win in a hand-to-hand fight, which he would like to see. King also offers to charge for watching the fight.

“I think Putin and Zelinsky ought to stop killing people and settle their differences mano a mano on Pay Per View. I’d love to see Mr. Z kick Putin’s ass,” the King of Horror wrote.

The expression mano a mano describes a conflict between two people and comes from the Spanish language, where it literally means “hand in hand”. However, it is sometimes confused with man-to-man, which means a frank conversation, usually between two men, or a one-on-one game of defense.

Stephen King's support for Ukraine

After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the “King of Horror” repeatedly spoke out in support of Ukrainians, condemning the actions of the Russian occupiers.

On March 31, 2022, Stephen King addressed the Russian leader, stating that “Ukraine will empty your coffers and bleed you white.” He later said that Putin had underestimated Ukraine.

At the end of May 2022, King called on the world to continue economic pressure on Russia. He also emphasized to Russia that they were not dealing with a lapdog but with a wolverine.

On June 28, 2022, he condemned the Russian missile attack on the Kremenchuk shopping center.

In early September 2022, American writer Stephen King supported the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive.

Later, in October, the American writer appealed to Russia on behalf of the whole world and advised it to “get out of Ukraine.” He called Russia's statements that the Crimean Bridge bombing was terrorism after the invasion of Ukraine the icing on the cake.

On December 31, 2022, King shared that his most cherished wish for the new year was peace in Ukraine.

In April 2023, the famous American writer once again supported Ukraine and urged not to give in to the temptation of an easy peace. “Keep Ukraine in your hearts and thoughts. Don’t support appeasers who would leave them behind,” he wrote.

In April 2024, Stephen King condemned the delay and constant postponement by US Republicans of a vote on military aid to Ukraine.
