Situation is stable in Lyman sector, but Russia likely prepares new offensive - Ukrainian military Dibrov
Weather conditions are not favorable for active movement of Russian troops in the Lyman sector, while Ukrainian troops are repelling enemy attacks
Senior Lieutenant Serhiy Dibrov, head of the public relations service of the 21st Detached Mechanized Brigade, told Espreso TV.
"We are currently in the area of responsibility of our brigade near the town of Lyman, in the Lyman direction. The situation is a bit calmer than usual. This means that there are still attacks and attempts to storm the town, but they do not take place from morning to night. That is, the enemy is trying to achieve something, but is most likely preparing a new, more powerful offensive and is preparing forces for it. In addition, the weather conditions are not very favorable for moving somewhere and trying to repel something. That's why we are most likely in an operational climate pause,” the head of the public relations service of the 21st Detached Mechanized Brigade explained.
Ukrainian troops are repelling Russian attacks at the front, while Russian army depots are being liquidated in the rear.
"It seems that they have run out of shells again and may restock them. That is, they have a full arsenal of means to fight us - infantry, tanks, artillery, and aircraft. But somehow, their use is strange, that is, the activity of one type of troops," explained the senior lieutenant.
According to Dibrov, it is the regular Russian army, contract soldiers who have undergone appropriate training and are under the command of career officers, who are fighting in their area: "That's why it's a really serious enemy - these are not private military companies, not penal companies, battalions like Storm and so on; it's the world's second army in its classical form, that is, Russian contract soldiers."
- Dmytro Sniehyrov, military expert, co-chairman of the Pravova Sprava NGO, believes that the Russia's priority is the Kupyansk-Lyman direction, where up to 120,000 enemy personnel and 1,300 armored vehicles are concentrated.
