Russia will not occupy left-bank bridgehead in Kupyansk in short term — Ukraine’s Achilles battalion
Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the Achilles battalion, notes that Russian troops aim to secure a foothold on the left bank of the Oskil River near Kruhliakivka to expand their position
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
“The Russian aggressors have begun to put more pressure on the Hlyboke section of the Kharkiv region, they continue to fulfill the task they were assigned back in May - to immerse themselves in the Kharkiv region and then reach the administrative borders of Kharkiv. To date, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have not lost a single position. Ukrainian brigades in this area are holding the line quite effectively and are taking measures to drive the Russian units out of their positions. In Kupyansk district, near Kruhliakivka, Russians aim to gain a foothold on the left bank of the Oskil river to further expand the left bank foothold,” noted Yuriy Fedorenko.
He stated that the Ukrainian Defense Forces halted the Russian advance, preventing them from fully seizing Kruhliakivka to establish a foothold. Currently, intense fighting is ongoing to push the occupying Russian forces out of their positions.
“In my opinion, in the short term, Russian forces will not be able to occupy the left bank bridgehead in the Kupyansk direction. As for the Russian attack on Oskil, thanks to Ukrainian unmanned aerial systems that allow us to deliver precision strikes, we will stop the Russian assault on Oskil. So we continue to hold the line,” summarized the commander of the Achilles battalion.
- Russian forces are attacking on the eastern bank of the Oskil River in the Kharkiv region and may soon advance in the area.
- Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of Ukraine's Achilles air defense battalion of the 92nd separate assault brigade, believes that Russian troops can't cross the Oskil River without first securing the left-bank bridgehead.
