DTEK, Ukraine’s major energy provider, reported the information.
In the morning, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, targeting DTEK's thermal power plants.
"The massive attack severely damaged the TPP equipment. After the attack ended, power engineers promptly began addressing the damage and restoring the equipment," the company reported.
This marks the 13th large-scale attack on Ukraine's energy sector this year and the 10th targeting DTEK's facilities.
- On Christmas Eve, December 24, and into Christmas Day, December 25, the Russian army launched Shahed-type drones and missiles at Ukraine. Read more about the attack here.
