Russian troops poised to launch major missile strikes as frost sets in — aviation expert
Aviation expert Valeriy Romanenko states that Russia has significantly enhanced its capacity for large-scale missile strikes on Ukraine
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
“According to a report from Ukrainian intelligence on July 18, the Russians had 190 Kh-101 missiles at that time and were producing 40 to 50 missiles of this type each month. If we calculate now, that amounts to about 120 missiles, plus the 190 in stock. This represents their capability to launch missiles from strategic bombers alone. Additionally, there are MiG-31s equipped with Kinzhal missiles, Iskander ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as a fleet of various missiles,” Romanenko explained.
According to the aviation expert, Russian forces have significantly increased their capabilities to conduct massive missile strikes against Ukraine.
“They have no reason not to strike Ukraine now, and there are no aircraft losses. In the European part, the Russians maintain about 20 TU-95 MS aircraft, but a significant number of them are not in flying condition. Overall, they can deploy about a squadron and a half, up to 15 aircraft that are operational. This means the Russians are genuinely waiting for the weather to turn cold,” Romanenko emphasized.
- The Financial Times reported that Ukraine and Russia are holding preliminary talks with Qatar's mediation to stop strikes on each other's energy infrastructure.
- The head of the Ukrainian President's Office, Andriy Yermak, said that Ukraine is not conducting any peace talks with Russia. Instead, the publications of Western media are false.
