Russians plan to mobilize over 150,000 residents in occupied Zaporizhzhia region
The Russian Federation's official plans include mobilizing more than 150,000 people from the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia region for the war against Ukraine
This is according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, speaking on a telethon.
He mentioned that drafting for the occupied areas of Zaporizhzhia has commenced, with the enemy setting up necessary infrastructure at each enterprise: military commissariats, conscription points, and conscription desks for maintaining military records.
"If we go by what they (the Russians, ed.) officially publish, they'll need to call up over 150,000 residents. We know there aren't many mobilization resources left in the temporarily occupied territories because half of our population has fled. However, it's important to note that the enemy has also brought a large number of people to areas like Berdyansk, Melitopol, and Enerhodar, who could serve as additional mobilization resources," Fedorov explained.
The administration head added that Gauleiters, including the self-proclaimed governor of Zaporizhzhia, are responsible for mobilization efforts in the occupied areas of the region, pressuring their subordinates to ensure population recruitment.
Fedorov also highlighted the risk faced by men aged 18 to 30, who are potential targets for mobilization into the Russian Armed Forces.
- On April 29, it was reported that the enemy established conscription commissions in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region for organizing and conscripting citizens of the Russian Federation for military service from April to July of the current year.
